On April 5, 2025, the VReduMED project participated as an exhibitor in the first Practical Instructors’ Conference at Regensburg University Hospital – a vocational training course with the theme “Innovative Learning, Professional Teaching.” Our presence at the conference proved to be extremely beneficial both in terms of content and strategy.
The participants – experienced practical instructors from the fields of training, professional development, and induction – perfectly matched our target group: pedagogically and didactically trained professionals who want to integrate innovative teaching and learning methods into their daily practice. With its focus on next-level learning, particularly the use of VR, AR, and AI in nursing education, the conference program provided an ideal framework for our project.
At our booth, interested parties were able to test various VR headsets and the interactive cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) application developed by VReduMED. The immersive simulation enabled realistic, action-oriented learning based on current competency models in nursing education and promoted both psychomotor skills and situational judgment. The feedback from attendees demonstrated high interest, a willingness to innovate, and a clear need for such technologies in practical instruction.
Our contribution to the event was not only the demonstration of new technologies, but also the critical discussion of their didactic integration. The possibility of implementing VR-supported skills training in training and continuing education scenarios was considered groundbreaking.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity to engage multipliers to disseminate our concepts and to gain direct input from practitioners. This not only increased our visibility but also actively contributed to the further development of the nursing education landscape.
Over 200 people, such as practical instructors, nursing academy directors, training coordinators, nursing educators, nurses, nursing trainees, nursing students, teachers, research and development representatives, academic/research staff attended the event.
