On July 16, 2025, the 2nd Regensburg Innovation Congress took place at TechBase Regensburg under the motto “Human. Machine. Digitalization.” The event brought together high-ranking representatives from business, science, and technology development to discuss current trends and future potential of digital innovations.
As part of the VReduMED project, the project partners Strategische Partnerschaft Sensorik e.V. and the OTH Regensburg were present as trade exhibitors. Visitors were able to use several VR headsets, a resuscitation manikin, and three exemplary VR applications at the booth: an anatomy-didactic learning environment for exploring complex body structures, an interactive training scenario for cardiopulmonary resuscitation of children, babies, and adults, and the prototype of the “Room of Horror,” a hospital room filled with errors that nursing staff must identify with their trained eye.
Visitor interest was exceptionally high. Experts from a wide range of fields were particularly impressed by the didactic system and technical performance of the applications. Application scenarios, scaling options, and transfer options into institutional curricula were discussed in numerous discussions. Participation in the Innovation Congress enabled targeted dissemination of the project approach and promoted the development of interdisciplinary networks. The intensive exchange with potential practical partners, universities, and technology providers also provided valuable input for further project development.
At the event there were representatives from business, science, research and development, politics and various networks from a wide range of disciplines.
